American Thinker published an op-ed by Restoring Our Faith founder Lenore Broughton about the troubling expanded euthanasia policy in Canada that was passed in 2021 at the height of the pandemic and would have gone into effect this week. Just a stone’s throw from Vermont, the policy includes helping people commit suicide who “have enduring and intolerable physical or psychological suffering.” So vague, but with little pushback, Canadian physicians are deciding who lives or dies. Sadly, this precedent set by our neighbors to the north is infiltrating the U.S.
California governor Gavin Newsom revised his state’s law in 2021 to limit the previous 15-day waiting period for physician assisted suicide to just two days. No doubt, he and the other 10 states where it is legal look to Canada to see how far they can push the envelope.
This is the same Gavin Newsom whose draconian Covid restrictions now face scrutiny by the courts including shutting down churches and synagogues and silencing doctors who expressed concerns over what was being told the American people about the virus. Our 2022 ROF speaker, Dr. Aaron Kheriaty, a Professor of Psychiatry at UCI School of Medicine and Director of the Medical Ethics Program at UCI Health University of California, was censored and eventually fired for his outspoken concerns.
See the latest about his battle to speak the truth in the medical community as well as among health professionals who did not buy the lies the Centers for Disease Control, the National Institutes for Health and others were telling Americans.
